Discovered this movie thanks to a tweet by @DannyTRS and it definitely seems interesting. Basically ‘One-Eyed-Monster‘ is a horror comedy about a certain body part of Ron Jeremy being taken over by an alien. You can pretty much assume what happens next. Came across Zooey Deschanel’s new Cotton commercial thanks to a link from slashfilm. Instantly fell in love with it for it’s fun vocals and well ’cause it’s Zooey. After a few listenings I decided to check out her imdb page. While looking over her trivia, found out she was in an independent band called She & Him so I immediately ran over Demonoid to see what it was about.

Found their first album Volume One and must say for the most part I really like it. The sound is a crazy mix of pop, jazz, and country and it comes out very nicely. Only tracks that I am not too fond of are the two 100% country songs considering my tastes, but in their own right they’re not too bad. My favorite tracks from the album are Sentimental Hearts, Why Do You Let Me Stay Here, Change Is Hard, and Sweet Darlin’. Can’t really say what draws me to these songs but I just cannot stop listening to them. Anyway if you’re into the whole indie scene or just looking for a super fun album, I highly recommend checking them out. You won’t be disappointed. (more…)

Fooling around with my personal site. Might turn it into an actual blog since it appears that sushiplane.com is in the process of dying. May repurpose the domain into something else if none of the other guys want it for something. Actually tried using other blogging/CMS software first to see if there was anything better out there for me but I’ve just grown too attached to WordPress here. Oh well. Now just gotta make a cool new theme to fit the bill and we’re all set. (more…)
